Double Haul Techniques

This cast is used for distance and is most fisher’s nemesis there are many teaching techniques and I will use them all to ensure you are competent, the most important piece of advice I can give anyone is that most people over do it sacrificing technique for distance and brawn does not work here, so work on timing. Note after pick up I have broken the rule (out of date rule)( 1am I find with fast action rods to be fine)? past 2 o’clock but I’m now at 2.30ish and use an open body method my left hand is on its way to the first rod ring as you need to stretch across your body with your left arm elbow pointing forward, depending how much you want to stretch does not necessarily mean a longer distance, I use a very minimal haul method and it works a treat ‘ don’t over do it ‘ timing first distance in time.

And finally the delivery into a full wind (imagine it please) a tight loop with the rod at 9.45 note the loop is holding up well and will do the full distance and land gently.
